옛 신선집에 찾아가

 

속세를 벗어나 옛 신선집에 이르니
산수는 변함없으되 옛 신선은 보이지 않네
신선님 살던 집과 과목들은 여전히 서 있는데
신선님은 살며시 자취를 감추셨네
금강산으로 숨으셨나
구름 타고 오르셨나
애타게 보고파 찾아온 선배님이시여
큰 소리로 외쳐봐도 응답이 없구나
총총히 가는 벽계수야 바삐 가는 벽계수야
나 또한 선배님 따라 이 속세 떠나서
거룩한 곳에 가 영원히 살리라 아~
노래하며 흘러가는 벽계수에게
선배님 계신 곳 간절히 물어보니
자기도 선배님 찾아가는 중이라고
대답하며 바삐 가는구나
금강산으로 숨으셨나 
구름 타고 오르셨나
애타게 보고파 찾아온 선배님이시여
큰 소리로 외쳐봐도 응답이 없구나

부디 내 선배님 계신 곳 알게 되거든
버들잎 엽서 한 장 띄워 보내다오

Visiting an Old Sage's Cottage

With the secular world behind me, I come to an old sage's cottage
The landscape is unchanged, but the old sage is nowhere to be found
The sage's cottage and fruit trees remain standing
But the sage himself has quietly hidden himself away
Is he hiding in Geumgang Mountain
Has he ascended on a cloud
Anxiously I had come wanting to meet this sage
I try calling him aloud, but there is no answer

You babbling brook flowing so busily on
I also wish to follow the sage and leave this secular world
To live eternally in that holy place

As I ask the babbling brook flowing on in song
Earnestly I ask where is the sage
And he replies he's on his way looking for the sage as well
And continues flowing busily on

Is he hiding in Geumgang Mountain
Has he ascended on a cloud
Anxiously I had come wanting to meet this sage
I try calling him aloud, but there is no answer

If you happen to find where the sage has gone to
Then won't you send me a willow leaf postcard
