아빠 아버지

[ Abba, Father ]

​

하나님을 친근하게 부를 때 사용하는 호칭으로, 이 말은 신약성경에서 세 번 언급된다(막 14:36; 롬 8:15, 갈 4:6). ‘아빠 아버지’란 표현은 ‘아빠, 즉 아버지’라고 풀이를 단 것이다. 여기서 ‘압바’는 아람어로서 주로 유대인들이, ‘파테르’는 헬라어로서 헬라 문화권의 이방인들이 아버지를 부르던 일상 용어다. 인간이 거룩하고 지엄하신 하나님을 가리켜 ‘아빠’라 부를 수 있는 것은, 하나님과 인간 사이에 단절감이 해소되고 친밀한 관계가 회복되었음을 시사하는 바요, 근본적으로 새로운 개념(주인과 종, 군주와 신하의 관계가 아닌 사랑으로 하나 된 가족)이 이뤄졌음을 뜻한다(갈 4:7). 그리고 이 같은 관계 회복은, 하나님의 구원 사업의 완성 단계를 의미한다.

It is a title used when referring to God in a friendly way, and it is mentioned three times in the New Testament (Mark 14:36; Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6). The expression ‘Dad, Father’ is interpreted as ‘Dad, that is, father’. Here, ‘Abba’ is an Aramaic word mainly used by Jews, and ‘Pater’ is a Greek word that Gentiles in the Greek culture used to call their father. The fact that human beings can refer to the holy and majestic God and call him 'Father' suggests that the sense of separation between God and humans has been resolved and the close relationship has been restored.
